It is a nationally recognised qualification provided by a Registered Training Organisation. It will give you the skills to begin a career in the aged care industry or set you on a path to further tertiary qualifications. The course is also appropriate for those already working in the industry who are looking to formalise their qualifications.
As a Registered Training Organisation, Allstaff Training delivers premium, nationally recognised aged care courses in Adelaide. The enrolment process combines informal discussions, interviews and written applications to help identify the applicants best suited to the industry.
The Certificate III in Individual Support is structured to provide a holistic approach to caring for people who are elderly. It will prepare you to enter the aged care industry, as well as giving you the physical, emotional and psychological tools necessary to provide quality care. The course offers a solid grounding in the principles of providing high-level personal care including practical components such as manual handling, first aid and working with people with dementia. It also equips you with the necessary tools to provide appropriate emotional, psychological and social care.
Our training materials and teaching methodologies are designed to not only prepare students to enter the industry, but to also equip them with an understanding and appreciation of the importance of their work.
Graduates will work with and learn from a range of health care professionals including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, community and disability workers and others.
Enrolments are ongoing. Government support for eligible students is available through the SA Skills program.
The course includes a minimum of 120 hours of industry placement organised by Allstaff.
Description
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.
Course Delivery
Training is conducted face to face at our training centre located in the Adelaide CBD including practical components – manual handling and personal care. The First Aid unit is delivered by First Aid Pro (RTO 40407)
